In our crazy modern world, there are too few opportunities for us as human beings to really understand who we are - and what it all means.

So we put ourselves in situations, we challenge ourselves, and we go to extremes to chase down our true identities, to spotlight them and find out who we truly are.

The results can be remarkable. A sense of achievement from a fear overcome; the exhilaration of the new and untried; the true peace of time alone on the road ahead; and the realization that we are one small part of something bigger and shared.

These are the moments that define us, not the blurry continuity of everyday life. As a rider, it's the fire in the lungs, your heart beating faster than a hummingbird and the quick set epoxy in the legs pushed to the limit.

Most people would claim, and rightly so, that you're as crazy as a rat in a tin can. But not us.  We see you. We understand.  It's why we do the insane too: like spec the very finest kit made today or over-caffeinate for long hours at the computer monitor only to show up at the start line woefully undertrained and insecure about tire pressure.

Just like you.
